STATE SPONSORED PROGRAMME SPECIFIC NEEDS GRANT-IN-AID: The 3rd Nagaland State Finance Commission (NSFC), has recommended for “Specific Needs – Grant-in-Aid”, for the award year 2023-2026, in order to strengthen the institutional capacity and service delivery mechanisms of the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the State.
To address the shortage of permanent municipal office building, the Commission recommended provision of funds to 18 selected ULBs during the award period of 2023-24, 2024 25 and 2025-26 for construction of dedicated ULB office buildings to be released in three instalments. This initiative aims to enhance institutional visibility and to provide adequate workspace for municipal staff, and improve public service delivery.
In addition to this, the Commission has recommended for procurement of sanitation trucks for 10 selected ULBs during the award period 2024-25. Sanitation Trucks to the following ULBs was flagged off on 63rd Nagaland Statehood day 2025 by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland. These vehicles will strengthen door-to-door waste collection, transportation and disposal mechanisms, contributing to cleaner and more hygienic urban environments.
